While this book is a great addition to any nostalgia buff's library, its title is misleading. It is more a fond reminiscence, complete with full color vintage postcards and souvenirs, from some of America's best roadside attractions, than an actual practical travel guide. For that, it would have to be much more comprehensive and include details of how and where to find the attractions still actually operating today.

So, if your purpose is to look back on the golden age of roadside Americana, this is a fine book. If you want to plan an actual journey, there are far better guidebooks.
