If you thought eating a vegan diet had to be boring, think again. This book puts all those notions to rest once and for all with recipes for truly haute gourmet food, artfully prepared and presented. The beautiful full color pictures of these breathtakingly beautiful recipes alone will make you want to go into the kitchen and start preparing your own masterpieces.
Since 1994, San Francisco's Millennium Restaurant has been raising the bar on what people expect from healthy vegan cuisine, proving you don't need meat or dairy products to make delicious, nutritious and inspiring dishes. All of the 140 recipes in the book are cholesterol free and many are low fat or can be made with little or no oil. The recipe influences span the globe, from Asia, Italy, and the good old USA. Be warned, however, that this is serious, fussy gourmet cooking. If you want fast and easy recipes, this is not the book for you. If, on the other hand, you enjoy spending time in the kitchen creating works of culinary art that will make or solidify your reputation as a talented chef/cook, then you can hardly do better.
