Review: Small plates are one of the biggest restaurant trends ever, and nobody does small plates like Cindy Pawlcyn (and co-chefs and brothers Pablo and Erasto Jacinto) of Napa Valley's Mustards Grill and Cindy's Backstreet Kitchen.

Whether you're looking to cut portion sizes on meals or are looking for lots of fun creative appetizers to serve to guests, this book is loaded with mouth watering recipes, many photographed in full color. The recipes emphasize the foods of Spain, Mexico, and Central and South America, with innovative new twists. Pawlcyn includes favorite recipes from both her current and past restaurants.

This is one of those cookbooks I couldn't put down. Almost every recipe was something that sounded tasty and appealing and I just couldn't wait to get cooking. There are so many recipes covering such a wide variety of foods, it will me take a long time to get through the book (plus I keep coming back to old favorites).

The playful recipe chapter titles include: Sticks, Picks, and with Fingers; Dressed Not Naked; Bowls and Spoons; On a Raft; Knife and Fork; Something Sweet.
