 COLEMAN'S
INFLATABLE KAYAKS Coleman's inflatable kayaks are a great way to be
ready for water fun anytime, anywhere. Available in one and two person models,
the kayaks inflate quickly and easily -- just a few minutes with Coleman's inflator
(which conveniently plugs into your car's cigarette lighter). Eight separate air
chambers provide safety and security -- if one should ever get a leak (not likely
with careful use, but possible), the others stay inflated. The innovative Airtight
inflator system prevents air from leaking out during the inflation process.
In the water the inflatable kayak is actually more stable than the traditional
variety. The tradeoff is slightly slower speed, as the inflatable kayak is slightly
wider and less aerodynamic than its hard sided counterparts. Seating is surprisingly
comfortable with good support. The folks at Coleman have thought of everything,
there's even a convenient drink holder, so you'll always stay hydrated while paddling.
Small recessed storage compartments with cargo nets gives you enough room to pack
a picnic lunch or tackle box for fishing (or whatever else you may need). Even
the two person model packs small enough to fit in a small car's trunk with plenty
of room to spare. Pack one in your vehicle and you'll always be ready for an impromptu
kayaking experience, wherever you roam.

| CAMPING & RV TIPS -- Outdoor
Cooking Tips | | Many thanks to the
readers who sent in these handy tips: - Toni from WY says: When getting
ready for a camping trip, especially in the fall or early spring when you still
like a nice hot meal, fill large coffee cans with chili, stew or soup, and freeze.
It adds to the coldness of the food in the cooler, plus, you can set it at the
edge of the campfire to heat, right in the can, serve up in bowls and then dispose
of the can. No big pots to wash and worry about.
- To make freezer packs
for your coolers, make juice and pour into plastic pop bottles, leaving room at
the top for expansion. Freeze, then add to your cooler. Saves space you get to
drink it when its defrosted. Perfect for hot sunny days.
- Susie from Morris,
KS suggests: To make an outdoor hand washing station use a clean milk jug. Tie
a string to a golf tee or nail and poke the tee into the side of the jug, near
the bottom, tie the string to the jug so it won't get dropped. Fill the jug with
water. To use, pull the tee out, loosen the lid and a stream of water will pour
out. Replace the tee and recap when finished. You may also tie a nylon stocking
with a bar of soap into the toe to it. TIP! Set this out of the way so the mud
won't become a problem. I prefer using a golf tee rather than a nail. Nails tend
to rust. The wooden tee will swell a little and not drip as much when not in use.
- Stuff our empty toilet paper rolls with dryer lint for great fire starters.
- When tent camping, keep your food in empty drywall compound buckets that
have been thoroughly cleaned and sanitized. Keeps critters out, food dry in case
of rain and can be used as seats around the campfire.
