California Reduces State Park Fees

News Alert

On Monday, January 1, 2001, camping fees were reduced or eliminated in state parks across the golden state.

The across-the-board fee reductions make California state parks more affordable for working families and other campers, Rvers, and outdoor enthusiasts. Camping fees are reduced to a maximum rate of $12 ($18 with hookups) and there is no longer a charge for a second vehicle. Fees for pets visiting the parks have been eliminated.

Day use fees have been cut in half and rolled down to the nearest dollar. In addition, the entrance fee to historic parks and museums is eliminated for children 16 and under and adult fees are reduced 50%.

More detailed information about statewide recreational fees is found on the California State Parks website.
