Review:

Don't let the name of this book fool you, this is a fabulous cookbook even if you've never thought about diabetes a single day in your life. Of course, if diabetes is a concern for you, this book will give you reason to celebrate!

Inside is a wonderful collection of healthy recipes, created by some of the country's top chefs. Unless you tell them, your guests will never know these impressive dishes are light and healthy.

You'll find 135 recipes from acclaimed restaurants each with a nutritional analysis that includes calories, calories from fat, total fat, saturated fat, protein, carbohydrates, fiber, cholesterol, sodium, potassium and Joslin center diabetic exchanges. (The nutritional info. gives every Weight Watcher the info they need to calculate point values).

Know that this is hardly typical low fat fare. This is first class, decadent gourmet cuisine. It's hard to believe eating healthy could be this good or this creative. The book also offers informative sidebars on ingredients and mail order sources for hard to find items. Eight pages of full color photographs will inspire you to put down the book and get into the kitchen.

Located in Boston, the Joslin Diabetes Center was established in 1898 and is an internationally recognized leader in the field of diabetes research. But never mind that, if you simply like great food, this book is for you.
