While I really love all of the Moosewood vegetarian cookbooks, this is by far, my favorite. If I have any critiques of the earlier books, it's that the recipes are pretty high in fat. This book solves that problem. It is chock full of all kinds of creative and delicious vegetarian food (there are a few seafood recipes, but it is primarily a vegetarian cookbook). The recipes are diverse in style with just about every recipe category you can think of covered, from breakfasts, to bread and sandwiches to appetizers and soups to main courses to desserts. Another thing I like about this particular book is that there is a lot of instructional information. There are tips on low fat eating and cooking, an extensive vegetarian ingredients glossary and a chapter on nutrition. There's also a section giving suggested menus, which makes planning very easy. Another nice feature is the recipe lists which puts the recipes in the following categories right at your fingertips:
Instructions are easy to understand and concise. None of the recipes in this book are all that difficult to make, so this book is suitable for all skill levels. |
