This wonderful book contains complete menus, rituals, p[arty planning and ideas for every holiday of the year! All the fundamentals for celebrating every Jewish Holiday. If you're first time hostess or are trying to juggle today's time pressures, this book can be a massive help. There are tons of great recipes, that's a given, but you'll also find:
All the holidays are covered as well as Shabbat and the celebrations of life's passages including brit milah, or baby naming and bar or bat mitzvah. The recipes are a wonderful mix of traditional, like haroset and how to roast an egg for Passover to those with new lighter, easier twists on the traditional. Try salmon gefilte fish - baked, not poached, and just 20 minutes from food processor to oven. Or try kreplach made with timesaving, widely available wonton skins. This is a must have book for the cook who has little time but lots of enthusiasm for keeping up with Jewish Traditions. |
